The Vision

In 2025, Meatless Monday Sri Lanka (MMSL) and SLYCAN Trust launched the Compendium of Plant-based Protein Sources in Sri Lanka to promote nutritious, locally rooted, and climate-friendly diets.

Building on this work, ‘A Plant-Based Plate’ is a practical, hands-on cooking session in collaboration with Shehana from Curry O’ Clock. The session brings sustainable eating out of theory and onto the plate– through local ingredients, and shared experience.

The event brings together food entrepreneurs, home cooks, hospitality professionals, and anyone curious about plant-based food to explore the connection between nutrition, local ingredients, and food innovation.
